8ROX is an independent poker information, community and affiliate website operated by Steve Brocklesby, trading as 8ROX, as a sole trader in the United Kingdom.

These Terms & Conditions govern the use of the 8ROX website and its services. By using 8ROX, you agree to these Terms.

8ROX provides poker-related information and services which may include information about online poker operators; links to participating poker operators; live poker venue, tournament and event information; tools for finding poker games; a Create a Game request service; free-entry and free-to-play poker opportunities; promotions, rewards and merchandise; poker videos and other content; community features; and other poker-related information and services.

Some features may be marked “Coming Soon” and are not currently available. 8ROX may develop, add or change features over time.

8ROX is committed to operating lawfully and responsibly and to complying with the laws and regulatory requirements applicable to its activities.

8ROX intends only to promote gambling operators and poker services that are appropriately licensed or authorised to provide their services in the relevant jurisdiction.

For consumers in Great Britain, 8ROX will only promote online gambling services where the relevant operator holds the appropriate licence from the Gambling Commission. For other jurisdictions, 8ROX will seek to work only with operators appropriately licensed or authorised for the relevant market.

The availability of operators, games, promotions and services may therefore vary according to a user’s location. Nothing on 8ROX is intended to encourage anyone to access gambling services unlawfully or circumvent geographical, age, identity or other regulatory restrictions.

8ROX does not operate the third-party online poker rooms promoted or linked to through the website.

8ROX does not accept wagers on behalf of those operators, hold player gambling funds, operate their poker software, determine game results or control player gambling accounts.

Gambling services are provided by the relevant licensed operator and are subject to that operator’s terms and conditions, eligibility requirements, regulatory obligations and responsible-gambling procedures.

Some links, buttons and QR codes appearing on 8ROX may be affiliate links.

8ROX may receive commission or other remuneration when an eligible customer visits, registers with or becomes a qualifying customer of a participating operator through 8ROX.

Affiliate tracking, customer qualification and commission eligibility are determined in accordance with the applicable operator’s affiliate programme. An affiliate relationship does not mean that 8ROX operates or controls the third-party gambling service.

8ROX gambling-related services and promotions are intended for adults aged 18 or over.

Persons under 18 must not use 8ROX to participate in poker games, claim gambling-related promotions or rewards, or access gambling services promoted through the website.

Where a user follows an 8ROX link to a third-party poker operator, that operator is responsible for carrying out the age and identity verification required by applicable law and its licence conditions.

Users must provide truthful information regarding their age and must not attempt to circumvent age, identity or geographical restrictions. Where 8ROX reasonably believes that a user is under 18, 8ROX may restrict access to relevant services, promotions or account features.

8ROX supports responsible gambling. Poker and gambling should be treated as entertainment. Gambling involves financial risk and players should never gamble more than they can afford to lose.

8ROX does not encourage users to chase losses, gamble beyond their means or regard gambling as a guaranteed way of making money.

Players should make use of responsible-gambling tools offered by their poker operator where appropriate. These may include deposit or spending limits, time limits, time-outs and self-exclusion.

Anyone concerned about their own gambling, or someone else’s gambling, is encouraged to seek independent support. For customers in Great Britain, free and confidential support is available through the National Gambling Helpline on 0808 8020 133, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Marketing Opt-Out

Users can opt out of gambling-related marketing from 8ROX at any time by using the unsubscribe facility provided in the relevant communication or by contacting support@8rox.com.

8ROX will respect marketing opt-out requests and take reasonable steps to prevent further gambling-related direct marketing being sent to users who have opted out. This does not prevent necessary non-marketing communications concerning a service requested by the user.

Where an 8ROX game or tournament is specifically advertised as Free Entry, Play for Free or similar, no entry fee will be charged by 8ROX to participate in that particular game or tournament.

Free entry does not mean that every poker game, third-party poker service or gambling service promoted by 8ROX is free. A free-entry game does not automatically carry a guaranteed prize.

A prize is guaranteed only where the relevant tournament or promotion is specifically advertised as carrying a guaranteed prize.

For example, where a tournament is advertised as £100 Guaranteed, the total guaranteed prize value will be £100 regardless of the number of eligible players entering, subject to the applicable tournament-specific terms.

Games not specifically advertised as guaranteed should not be understood as carrying a guaranteed prize. Individual tournaments may have additional conditions covering eligibility, registration, dates, start times, player limits and prize distribution.

8ROX may provide links to free-entry tournaments, freerolls, play-money games, beginner games or other promotional opportunities offered by participating poker operators.

These opportunities are provided by the relevant third-party operator and not by 8ROX unless expressly stated otherwise.

Availability, eligibility, prizes and other conditions may vary between operators and may change. Where an operator requires registration, age or identity verification or other eligibility requirements, those requirements apply even where no deposit or entry fee is required.

Users should check the applicable offer and operator terms before participating. 8ROX will seek to ensure that descriptions of third-party offers are current and accurate, but operators may amend or withdraw their offers.

8ROX may provide a Create a Game service allowing eligible users aged 18 or over to submit details of a proposed poker game or event.

Requests may include Home Games, Pub Poker Nights and Corporate Poker Events, together with other game types that 8ROX may introduce in the future.

One-Off and Recurring Games

A game may be requested as a one-off event or a recurring weekly game. For recurring games, the organiser may specify the day or days of the week, start and end times and the period during which the game is intended to repeat.

Submitting a recurring-game request does not guarantee that every requested date will be available or approved.

Game Information

Organisers may be asked to provide information including the game or event name; dates and times; whether the game is free entry or has a proposed buy-in; maximum player numbers; poker format; proposed prize information; venue or general location information where applicable; relevant venue information or amenities; organiser name and contact details; and other information reasonably required to process the request.

Organisers are responsible for ensuring that the information they submit is accurate.

Review and Operator Approval

Submitting a request does not mean that a game has automatically been approved, created or made available.

8ROX may review submitted requests before they are confirmed or published. Where an online poker game is to be provided through a participating licensed poker operator, 8ROX may submit the relevant request to that operator.

The participating poker operator is responsible for approving and setting up the online poker game on its platform.

Once a game has been approved and confirmed, 8ROX may provide the organiser with relevant information including dates and times and, where applicable, a link, QR code, game code or other access information.

Players may be required to hold or create an account with the relevant operator and satisfy that operator’s age, identity, location and other eligibility requirements.

Pub, Venue and Corporate Games

Where a user submits details of a pub, venue or corporate poker event, the organiser is responsible for ensuring that they have appropriate authority to submit the listing and that the proposed activity complies with applicable laws and requirements.

8ROX’s acceptance or publication of a listing does not constitute legal approval of the event or mean that 8ROX operates or supervises it.

Refusing or Removing Requests

8ROX may refuse, amend, suspend or remove a game request or listing where there are reasonable grounds to believe that it is unlawful, inaccurate, misleading, inappropriate, unsafe or inconsistent with these Terms or the requirements of a participating poker operator.

8ROX may from time to time offer rewards, merchandise, free-entry tournaments, competitions or other promotions to eligible users aged 18 or over.

Each promotion may have its own specific terms covering matters such as qualifying actions, participating operators, geographical restrictions, availability, promotional periods and player limits. Significant conditions will be displayed with, or made readily accessible from, the relevant promotion.

Where a reward depends upon an action being verified through a participating operator, it becomes due only after 8ROX receives sufficient confirmation that the applicable qualifying conditions have been satisfied.

Merchandise is subject to availability. Unless expressly stated otherwise, rewards are personal, non-transferable and have no cash alternative.

8ROX may withhold or withdraw a reward where there is reasonable evidence of fraud, duplicate or false accounts, inaccurate information or deliberate promotional abuse.

Nothing in an 8ROX promotion is intended to encourage anyone to gamble beyond their means or continue gambling solely to obtain a reward.

8ROX may introduce community features including freerolls, events, leaderboards, user accounts and user-submitted content.

Where a feature is marked Coming Soon, it is not currently available and its appearance on the website does not guarantee a particular launch date.

When community features become available, additional rules or terms may apply. Significant conditions will be made available before participation.

8ROX may moderate community features and may remove content or restrict access where reasonably necessary to prevent unlawful activity, abuse, fraud or serious breaches of these Terms.

8ROX may display, embed or link to poker-related videos and other content. Some content may originate from third-party publishers, poker operators, creators or other rights holders.

Ownership of third-party material remains with the applicable rights holder. The appearance of third-party content on 8ROX does not transfer ownership of that content to 8ROX.

Where users are subsequently permitted to submit content, they must have the necessary rights or permissions to provide that content for publication. 8ROX may moderate, reject or remove submitted content.

8ROX may provide information about poker venues, casinos, tournaments, leagues and events.

8ROX aims to provide useful and reasonably accurate information, but schedules and venue information can change at short notice.

Tournament dates, times, entry fees, guarantees, structures, opening hours and other information may be changed or cancelled by the relevant venue, operator or organiser.

Users should confirm important information directly with the relevant organisation before travelling, booking or incurring significant expense. Unless expressly stated otherwise, venues and events appearing in the 8ROX directory are independently operated.

Find a Game

8ROX may provide tools that help users discover poker games, venues or events based on location, date or other preferences.

Search results do not guarantee that a particular game, tournament, seat or event will remain available. Use of personal information, including location information where applicable, is addressed in the 8ROX Privacy Policy.

Unless otherwise stated, the 8ROX name, logo, branding, original graphics, written content and other original 8ROX materials are owned by or licensed to 8ROX.

Users must not commercially reproduce, distribute or exploit original 8ROX content without permission except where permitted by law.

Third-party poker operators, venues, creators and organisations retain ownership of their respective names, trademarks, logos, videos and other intellectual property.

Where third-party branding or promotional material is used, 8ROX will seek to use it with appropriate permission, through an applicable affiliate or commercial relationship, or as otherwise permitted by law.

Inclusion of a venue or organisation in the 8ROX directory does not by itself mean that the organisation sponsors, endorses or has a commercial relationship with 8ROX.

8ROX may contain links and QR codes leading to independent third-party websites and services. Those services are controlled by their respective operators.

Users should review the applicable third party’s own terms and privacy information before using its services.

8ROX provides poker information, community features, affiliate links and services designed to help users discover poker-related opportunities.

Where gambling takes place through a third-party operator, that operator provides the gambling service.

8ROX does not control player deposits, withdrawals, wagers, poker software, game results, account verification or decisions made by independent poker operators.

Issues relating directly to a player’s gambling account or gambling transactions should normally be raised with the relevant operator.

8ROX is not responsible for changes or cancellations made by independent venues, operators or event organisers.

8ROX will take reasonable care in providing its own services and information but cannot guarantee uninterrupted website availability or that independently supplied information will always remain current. Where 8ROX becomes aware of a material error, it will take reasonable steps to correct it.

Gambling involves financial risk. 8ROX does not guarantee that any user will win money or make a profit from poker or gambling.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or restricts rights or remedies that consumers are entitled to under applicable law. Nothing excludes liability where doing so would be unlawful, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.

Where user-account functionality is available, 8ROX may suspend, restrict or close an account where there are reasonable grounds to believe that a user has seriously or repeatedly breached these Terms, provided false information, is under 18, engaged in fraud or unlawful activity, abused a promotion or compromised the security or operation of the service.

Suspension of an 8ROX account does not determine the status of a separate account held with a poker operator.

8ROX may develop, improve, add, replace or remove website features and may temporarily suspend services for maintenance, security, technical, legal or regulatory reasons.

These Terms may be updated where reasonably necessary to reflect changes to the service, applicable law or regulation, participating operator requirements, security developments or new features.

The current version will be published on the website together with the date it was last updated.

Where a material change significantly affects registered users, 8ROX will take reasonable steps to bring the change to their attention where appropriate. Changes will not retrospectively remove rights already acquired where doing so would be unlawful or unfair.

Questions, concerns or complaints concerning 8ROX can be sent to support@8rox.com.

8ROX will aim to consider complaints fairly and respond within a reasonable period.

Where a complaint concerns a gambling account, deposit, withdrawal, wager, game result, bonus, verification decision or another service provided by a third-party poker operator, it should be raised directly with that operator.

8ROX may help a user identify the appropriate operator contact route but does not determine disputes between players and independent gambling operators.

If a provision of these Terms is found to be unlawful or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to apply to the extent permitted by law.

If 8ROX does not immediately enforce a provision of these Terms, this does not automatically waive its right to enforce that provision subsequently.

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

If you are a consumer resident elsewhere, nothing in these Terms removes any mandatory consumer protections or jurisdictional rights that apply to you under applicable law.
